lakeney Leigh were appointed under the Enfield Council consultancy framework to undertake a roof replacement project at Broomfield School.

As part of this service, specialist access was arranged and all areas on the school campus were surveyed to determine repair & replacement requirements within the client’s budget.

Installation of flat roof overlay systems with cut to falls insulation and architectural roof lights was carried out under flat roof replacement to existing asphalt substrate to areas of the school including to the front entrance of the school and Gymnasium & Fitness suite areas, which made the areas water tight and the sports areas suitable for PE use by the school. All works were fully guaranteed and provided a minimum 25 year lifespan to the roof areas.

The independent Sports Hall originally consisted of corrugated asbestos panels and this roof was replaced using a new insulated panel roof cladding system to provide the new roof with a minimum 20 year lifespan with rainwater drainage calculated and redesigned inline with current regulations.

The independent canteen building on the campus was a modern building however had suffered from roof leaks from construction which could have resulted in closing of the canteen when required for use by the school. Roof repairs were successfully carried out to the standing seam roof to ensure that the canteen is always safe and open for use.

Full scaffolding was carried out to accommodate the works which included the installation of a temporary roof and safety netting on the Sports Hall to ensure that the roof to this area was completed safely and with the allocated time scales.

As part of the project other associated works and internal making good & repair were carried out to areas where extensive ingress had occurred, with the sports areas refurbished in-line within the design requirements of Sports England.
